Homily of December 24 - Christmas Eve

Church St Etienne - Entrammes - 22:30

Friday, December 24, 2010 Solemnity of the Nativity of Our Lord - Midnight Mass

(Texts: Is 9.1-6 - Psalm 95 - 2.11-14 Tt - Luke 2 1-14)

Welcoming remarks:
Love, peace, joy, happiness, these are the words that come to mind when we think of Christmas. Gathered this evening around the Infant God, we just tap into the source of love, to feed our own hearts that love and radiate around us.

Homily:
Brothers and sisters,
tonight Gathered around the Child Jesus is a dive into the sources of our faith that we are invited. Yes, because if we are constantly celebrating the anniversary of the birth to the world of the Son of God over 2000 years later, is that by this unprecedented event inaugurated God's redemption of mankind.
Jesus, the Son of God, the Savior of the world, comes in the midst of humanity, just walk on our roads has come to share our condition human. And he's not here to pretend! When the Son of God, the eternal Word made flesh, he is born as a baby, to live within our human condition.
Most years that Christ spent on our land in our midst, were silent for years: from his birth until the beginning of his public life, about 30 years, Jesus lived a life simple and ordinary human in the middle of the inhabitants of Nazareth with Mary and Joseph. That's what he yad'étonnant: 30 years of hidden life, 3 years of public life, education, healing, leading to the death and resurrection. Why all this time of Nazareth, we might almost seem a waste of time? Why is it that God wanted to spend all these years to live normally, as one of us?
is that God's love for us goes far: the deepest desire of love is to become the other, while remaining himself, and Jesus Christ, this is done perfectly. Jesus is true God and true man ... In him, one of the Trinity has come among us, in him, one of us ascended into heaven and resides in of the Trinity. For human nature of Jesus is not like a dress that would bear on Christmas Eve to raise for 33 years and throw it at the time of the Ascension. No, since its passage on this earth among us, and eternity, Jesus the Son of God is true God and true man. And his resurrected body tells us something of what our own body in the resurrection.
Jesus shows us the way because, as St. Athanasius said, "God became man so that man might become God. 'Imitating Christ, we are truly his adoptive brothers and we enter into the intimacy Holy Trinity ...
Imitating Christ ... that is how we can enter into communion with God. And what is the heart of Christ's life, except love for God and all mankind? Thus, the path that lies before us in this celebration of Christmas is still and always a journey of love, and love in deed and in truth. For love is not seen, but what we can see, these are acts of love. By becoming incarnate, becoming man, teaching us, dying on the cross, by reviving and sending us his Holy Spirit at Pentecost, God showed us how far will his love for us.
And we, what are the things we do for God to show our love for Him? What can we do? "It's the love you have for each other that all will know as my disciples", "Love ye one another as I have loved you", "what you did for one of these least brothers of mine, it's me that you did. " Christ's answer is clear: as a testament of my commitment to Him is how I behave with those around me. Any person must be the face of Christ for me: every gesture of affection, assistance and support, I ask for someone, it is a gesture of love to God that I am, at the same time. And conversely, every gesture, every word of rejection, hatred, malice, jealousy, ... I do to another is at the same time I draw a barrier between me and God.
Sometimes they say "I, my father, I am non-practicing Christian," which generally implies that the person believes in God but do not attend many churches. These are religious, of the Sacraments, which is an essential element of Christian life. But the Christian practice, be a practicing Christian, this is not just coming to church: being a practicing Christian is to pray, alone and with others, it also read the Word of God, and finally, be a Christian practitioner is trying to make a lifelong love of praise to God. That's what it means to be Christian to pray, read the Word, love in deed and in truth.
Brothers and sisters, to live like that, we need each other, we we need to support us through prayer, through words and deeds. May this festival of Christmas is to remind us that our vibrant and warm life finds its meaning only if we love in the first place.
Amen.

Can You Get Pityriasis Rosea More Then Once?

Christmas Message 2010 Bishop Scherrer

must be young to understand the mystery of Christmas

It desecrates ever Christmas by making it a commercial holiday where you just think feasting and exchanging expensive gifts. What a pity! For Christmas is a new amazing, a wonderful event: it is God who comes to meet man. Because it is love, God descends in some sort of height and is one of us. The fragility of a toddler, he just hide the treasure of a life in which he wants to rebuild the whole humanity. Through the eyes of a child, he tells us the immeasurable value of every human life whatsoever.

Christmas, so it is primarily a call to recognize and uphold the dignity of the most vulnerable: the young child in the womb, the sick or disabled, the old end of life. Because they are vulnerable, precisely, they are demanding from us more attention and kindness, they are simply asking to be welcomed and loved for who they are. It's so important to repeat. Because our society is full of great inventions, scientific and technological wealth, our company has all the materials needed and who is at the top of modernity is however a company that is afraid of disability and vulnerability. This explains that the temptation of eugenics and euthanasia has never been as pervasively present today. However, a company that no longer respects the dignity of the person, a company that refuses to welcome the vulnerability, a company that ultimately threatens the life of the weakest is a company that could at any time to switch into inhumanity and barbarism.

exchange our gifts, live joyously celebrate! Yes! But do not forget the innumerable small and unloved that our society does not. Happy Christmas to all!

Scientology wants to convert the Catholic parishes!

Y are some who do not really miss the nerve!
I just got this morning in my mailbox a card addressed to the parish of St. Benedict Rivers, Scientology! This sect, who dares call themselves church only interested in power and money to a Catholic parish offers a training program!
I quote, that is funny:
Whatever the problem ... we can do something.
Discover 19 practical and effective methods to help others anytime and anywhere
  • deal with people upset
  • help children
  • repair relations
  • well more
That's it! Scientology will save the world! They have all the solutions to all problems! And soon, with finance, we will solve all your problems!

The saddest part of this story is that with such stupidities they manage to indoctrinate people.
The only thing that comforts me is that it must be costly because, brace yourself, the card reaches me from New Zealand! Go
good day anyway!

Nhl Players Equipment

The oldest couple in Europe

A very nice little article on page 11 of the newspaper "La Croix" today, written by Nicolas Caesar. I am sharing:

Husband and wife since 28 November 1929, the Minato "have vowed that nothing would break their history" .

Children, Angelo Amabile and lived opposite one another in their hometown, Roncade in the Treviso area, not far from Venice. Moreover, these fervent Catholics believe that "was a sign from God" . So on the porch of the church, just 10 years, Angelo him declare his love: "You'll be my wife." since they are inseparable, despite the war and fascism that led into exile in France. Angelo arrived first in 1925 and joined the Amabile in 1926. Children of farmers, they chose Mézin (Lot-et-Garonne), to build their "nest." Here, Angelo was able to realize his dream and move the ring finger of his bride 28 November 1929, the day of the 20 years of it.

"It brought a love unfailing by a strong belief in God. They have always prayed together every morning and evening " said, admiringly, Jeanine, 74, their daughter, who supports his home ten years. For it is here that we must seek the explanation of the longevity of their relationship. "They took an oath before God that nothing would break their history." On land, too, their union is under guard. "We spoil the lot. Every Sunday, children gather around their table " says Sylvie, one of their granddaughters. Today is a great family that surrounds them: four children, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren arrièrearrière-and grand-son.

For Jeanine, is a just reward. "They have been very privileged and have been attentive to others. (...) When my cousins, aunts or co-workers had nothing to eat, they always gave something, even if it was just soup ", she says. Because their life was tough: 'They worked hard, cold, factories cork Mézin ", says she. Of wholeness, even authoritative for Amabile, these two lovers have managed to get their act together and send their offspring to their highest values dear: faith, family spirit and work.

They still command the admiration of their children and grandchildren. Amabile if no longer mentally capable, Angelo watches over her like a treasure, "his" treasure, with a love more demonstrative. "I never saw my grandfather kiss my grandmother. Today, he externalizes his feelings and he made lots of hugs " says Sylvie, deeply moved.

Describe A Car Accident

Promotional campaign: the All Blacks in Paris for Adidas

After the heavy defeat of France's rugby team against Australia, Adidas has been the morale of fans Parisian rugby by making the All Blacks ahead after their European tour victory.

international 5 New Zealand: Dan Carter, Richie McCaw, Mils Miuliaina, Conrad Smith, Sam Whitelock and their coach Graham Henry was so this Wednesday and Thursday in Paris for the needs of their OEM program with an autograph session and some sports.

Wednesday, they met some French players in the Stadium including Mathieu Bastareaud (very popular in New Zealand) and young rugby players to feel the leather on a snowy field. To immortalize the meeting between Blacks and Stadiste Adidas launches a black polo shirt with the logos of the two teams. The advantage of such a sport polo is not clear as possible its commercial success.

This meeting was followed by an autograph session from 5 New Zealand players at the Adidas Brand Center on the Champs Elysees. To promote the Internet, several bloggers (dedicated to rugby or not) have been involved in publishing a post about the event with the teaser video and providing readers with autographed balls to win. Got there over 2 hours in advance (too careful), I had time to tour the most beautiful avenue in the world and was surprised to see a zodiac colors of the All Blacks placed just outside the entrance Fouquet's. The mark of the boat, Sealegs, is a partner of the New Zealand team, so she wanted to take advantage of the arrival of the players in Paris to his promotion.

Back in Brand Center, everything was in place to accommodate the players and fans. The famous black shirts were of course highlighted by being carried by dealers and players, and present along the queue along with other derivatives of Blacks including balloons that were much more successful than shirts and jerseys. The players are loaned to the exercise with enthusiasm, they were quite nice. For cons, I was very disappointed that Richie McCaw was absent in full session after only a few minutes to be interviewed by Bernard Laporte (on seeing happen I thought it was canvassing for Bayonne). So, I did not have a right to my dedication of the captain of New Zealand.

The next morning, the All Blacks met Claude Onesta, coach of the France team (equipped by Adidas), accompanied by Thierry Omeyer, Jerome Fernandez and the bloggers who participated in the promotion of operation. They were able to handball player and the touch rugby (it must be very frustrating player in rugby with the All Blacks without being able to tackle).

Note that the Twitter account of the rugby section of Adidas ( adidasrugby_FR ) allowed users to watch live the whole operation including promotional photos.

I thank the mark for 3 bands for allowing me to see in flesh and bone Dan Carter and his teammates even though I loved being around them more and be part of selected bloggers.
